This week we will pick food from our fields and use our harvest to cook, taste and explore a variety of dishes that are eaten in different cultures throughout the world. Children will engage in taste tests, learn about herbs and spices, and make their own tasty snacks, drawing from the bounty of fresh produce grown at Common Ground Farm. The 10 to 12 group will work with a professional chef and will create globally inspired snacks from start to finish—harvesting vegetables, preparing them safely, and sharing their creations. Participants will go home with a hand-made cookbook and open mind to many different tastes and flavors, drawing from a variety of cultures. On Friday, families will be invited to join us as we share the food that we harvested and prepared ourselves!
